Yen Thy Bistro – Westminster – (714) 898-9889 – 9030 Bolsa Ave #101, 92683 (Behind the 7-11 store)
One of many French-Vietnamese cafes in Orange County serving French influenced Vietnamese food like steak and wine chicken. Located in the former place of well-known french/viet Tai Buu restaurant. Nothing particular stands out as awesomely good but not bad either. The Com Ga Xe Phai (kum gahh sair fye) shredded chicken & rice here is good but a little on the sweet side, they must have a heavy hand with the sugar. I also like the bamboo shoot and chicken noodle soup cause it seems healthy but a little tasteless for those who don’t like bamboo shoots which is an acquired taste imho.

Very clean and nicely decorated upscale restaurant befitting of it’s Irvine location.
Com Tam (Gum Tum) – translates to broken rice. A filling meal of rice with delicious grilled meat or seafood, served with pickled vegetables, sometimes with egg-foo-young patty or a fried egg. Drizzle the fish sauce all over and you’ve got a pretty tasty rice dish.
I like the Com Ga (Gum Gaah) – Chicken Rice from the Thanh (Ton) restaurant in Irvine. They put these tasty thin onion ring-like strips over a generous portion of the salad.

Bo Luc Lac (Baw Luke Luck) – Diced cubed beef with salad. At Saigon Bistro they serve it with red or white rice. Besides Bo Luc Lac, you’ll find steak filets and chicken with wine sauce meals as well as traditional Vietnamese dishes. Com Ga Roti is also popular, a crispy skinned quail or chicken piece served with tomato rice.
